Sanjay Alapakkam

SOLICITOR

Sanjay graduated from UNSW with a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance) with Distinction. He was awarded the Lawyers Weekly ‘Australian Law Student of the Year’ Award in 2020 and listed under ‘Out for Australia’s 30 under 30’ list for 2021. Sanjay was admitted as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of NSW in September 2022.

Sanjay commenced working with Harmers in 2026 as a Solicitor.

Prior to joining Harmers, Sanjay has worked as a Legal Policy Advisor at LGBTIQ+ campaigning and advocacy organisation, Equality Australia, and as a commercial litigation solicitor at Corrs Chambers Westgarth and Clayton Utz.

Sanjay has previously volunteered for the employment law advice service provided by Redfern Legal Centre, and completed a casual secondment with Refugee Legal. While pursuing law at university, Sanjay had worked across social security law, refugee law, prison oversight and legal recruitment.

Outside of work, Sanjay is involved with the general committee of the NSW Council for Civil Liberties, has recently taken up playing hockey, occasionally writes for a community newspaper and is always on the hunt for new vegan brunch spots.
