Sophie Bathurst


Sophie holds a BA (Modern and Medieval Languages) from the University of Cambridge; a Master of Philosophy in Modern Chinese Studies from the University of Oxford and a Juris Doctor (with distinction) from the University of New South Wales. Sophie has also completed studies abroad at the University of Konstanz, Peking University and the University of Copenhagen.

Sophie was admitted as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of NSW in 2017.

Her previous legal experience includes a two-year associateship to the Chief Justice Allsop of the Federal Court of Australia and an internship at the Administrative Appeals Tribunal.  Sophie’s other work experience has included roles in both the public and private sectors.
