Summer Clerk Program

Harmers’ summer clerk program is tailored to provide an exceptional grounding in our areas of practice, whilst also developing practical legal skills.

Being part of the clerkship program at Harmers provides an opportunity to work with our vibrant and diverse team and experience a culture that supports teamwork and collaboration. Harmers is a non-hierarchical firm and provides opportunities for clerks to work closely with our most senior practitioners.

Harmers aims to provide its clerks with a unique experience of life in the law – combining thorough training and induction, in-depth legal knowledge, the experience of working on real cases, and practical know-how about day-to-day legal practice. Clerking at Harmers provides the opportunity to work with some of Australia’s leading employment lawyers, many of whom are recognised and frequently awarded for both legal excellence and exceptional service to clients.

In addition to traditional day-to-day legal work, Clerks are also invited to attend any of the various meetings that occur at Harmers, such as weekly legal staff meetings, weekly legal staff training sessions, or committee meetings.

During the clerkship program, each of our clerks will be paired up with one of our more recently admitted legal practitioners, who will offer guidance, mentoring and a reference point throughout the program.
