Ben graduated from the University of Technology, Sydney in 2023 with a Bachelor of Laws (First Class Honours), with a Distinction/High Distinction average, and ranked 1st in his graduating cohort for law. He also achieved first place in:
He was subsequently granted The Dean’s Merit List Award in recognition of his outstanding academic achievements and became the recipient of the Harmers Workplace Lawyers Prize and Award Certificate for attaining first place in Labour Law.
Ben also holds a Bachelor of Computer Science and has achieved first place in a Legal Artificial Intelligence (AI) competition, and is working towards his Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) at the Faculty of Law and Justice of the University of New South Wales (UNSW).
Before joining Harmers, Ben volunteered his time at various Community Legal Centres (CLCs) and gained experience as a paralegal at a boutique commercial law firm whilst completing his legal studies, dealing in matters relating to employment, commercial property, consumer legal issues, tenancy/strata, criminal matters, debts/fines, estate/probate, welfare issues involving Centrelink and social housing, power of attorney and guardianship issues. Ben also gained experience in conciliations at the Fair Work Commission for general protections claims and unfair dismissal cases.
Ben is passionate about all areas of employment and industrial law; and is currently working on one of the firm’s landmark cases.
