Jen Smith

Jen recently completed a Juris Doctor with Distinction from the University of New South Wales on a scholarship for Academic Excellence. Jen also holds a Masters in Philosophy from the University of Exeter (UK) and Bachelor of Arts (Dean’s Scholar) from the University of Wollongong.

During her legal studies, Jen volunteered as a legal assistant at the Refugee Advice and Casework Service, and worked as a legal research assistant for a senior barrister who specialises in employment, industrial and discrimination law. Jen also completed the Employment Law Clinic internship at Kingsford Legal Centre, where she assisted clients seeking advice and assistance on COVID-19 vaccine mandates, unfair dismissals, unlawful discrimination claims, and award/agreement breaches.

Prior to pursuing law, Jen worked and volunteered in roles focused on sexual violence prevention. Jen has a particular interest in discrimination and sexual harassment claims and has experience in dealing with clients affected by emotional trauma and stress.
