Izabela Bowell

INVESTIGATIONS CONSULTANT

Izabela graduated from Charles Sturt University with a Diploma in Fraud and Financial Investigations and is currently completing a Bachelor of Law with Charles Darwin University.

Izabela has approximately twelve years of experience as an investigator, covering four years at Harmers as an investigation consultant across all of the firm’s practice areas, and eight years as a dedicated Fraud Analyst/investigator in the telecommunications industry.

Izabela is a dedicated Investigations Consultant for Harmers. She has conducted numerous workplace investigations into discrimination, sexual harassment, bullying and misconduct. She is responsible for performing all aspects of the investigation process including preparing an interview plan, conducting interviews, preparing detailed witness statements and preparing evidence findings.

Prior to joining Harmers, Izabela worked for a leading national telecommunications company as a Fraud Analyst/Investigator. In this role, Izabela was responsible for investigating actual and suspected allegations of fraudulent conduct by employees, contractors, vendors, suppliers and external sales agents.

Izabela is well equipped in managing the complete investigation process from start-to-end, including:

  • preparing an interview plan;
  • conducting analysis in relation to a breach of process or suspected breach of process by an employee;
  • gathering evidence from multiple sources;
  • interviewing witnesses; and
  • preparing of briefs, including investigation reports for internal purposes and police briefs of evidence.

In performing the above duties, Izabela has demonstrated a sound knowledge of the NSW Crimes Act, Telecommunications Act, Surveillance Act and Privacy Act.
