Emer Gilmore

SOLICITOR (Admitted in the UK)

Emer completed a Bachelor of Law (LLB) and Politics degree at Queen’s University, Belfast and graduated with a First-Class Honours in 2016. During her degree, she was granted a scholarship to study at an American college for one year and majored in business studies.  Emer was subsequently admitted as a Solicitor to the Law Society of England & Wales in 2020 following completion of a two-year training contract.

Prior to moving to Australia and joining Harmers in 2024, Emer gained experience as an employment lawyer across two international law firms. She has been involved in large-scale litigation, workplace investigations, grievances, disciplinaries and advising on employment aspects of corporate transactional work. She also has experience in drafting workplace policies and employment contracts tailored to a range of seniority levels and has worked on various multi-jurisdictional advisory projects. Emer adopts a people-centric approach to her practice and strives to be pragmatic, empathetic, and strategic when assisting clients.

She works across all of the Firm’s practice areas and has a particular interest in working on discrimination, sexual harassment and whistleblowing matters.
