Sam Alexander-Prideaux

Sam graduated from the University of Sydney in 2023 with a Bachelor of Laws (Honours), having previously been awarded a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Sydney in 2020, majoring in Philosophy.

Sam joined Harmers as a paralegal in 2022. Prior to joining the firm, Sam worked in the industrial and organising teams at a national union, assisting workers in the media, arts, and entertainment sectors with individual and collective workplace issues.

Sam is passionate about workers’ rights and believes in the capacity for law to be used to achieve justice in the workplace. His honours thesis considered the detrimental effects of anti-protest laws on workers’ rights (in the form of industrial picketing) and received a High Distinction. Sam has also been published by the Sydney Environment Institute for his proposal for a ‘just transition’ away from fossil fuels, which won the Sydney University Law Society’s (SULS) policy pitch competition in 2019.

While studying, Sam volunteered for a range of different organisations, reflecting his passion for justice. Sam has volunteered at the Marrickville Community Legal Centre, and for the SULS’ Refugee Language Tutoring Program. In 2022, Sam was also a co-chair of SULS’ Community Legal Education Project (CLEP). In this role, Sam introduced an education module focusing on young people’s rights in the workplace.

Sam currently works across all the firm’s practice areas for both corporate and individual clients and has a particular interest in industrial relations and general protections matters.
